What does Organizational change mean, Technologywise?

1. The misinformation of Business Process Reengineering!

This radically changed the way companies did business in the 90's. 'Re engineering corporations' was a book that emphasized on this new catch in town. It is a blank slate approach which business used to start from scratch and many had radical and fundamental results. This changed a lot of processes instantly within weeks or even days. The IT people were excited because they could see the immediacy in the systems they put in place. Later on, only a third had successes. Change assessment, especially managing the changing, or measuring the change, were some of the failure reasons.

2. Why Business Process Improvement stepped in

Incremental changes are the opposite of radical changes. They improved the downfall of Business Process Re-engineering. It doesn't take the snatch and grab, but takes some time for analysis. It still exists today, but started in the 90's, 2000. Doing things faster, better quality and with higher accuracy. The best about this is that it does not have to be an IT guy.

3. The entry of Total Quality Management

The focus is quality. All systems have to work together and involve every one in the organization towards quality improvement. There is so much to say about TQM because it revitalized the whole management sector. Deming and Duran, were Americans who pioneered TQM, but it all started in Japan where they were able to put it in place. It has been evident in the auto industry. It drives for doing it well the first time.
